Museum: Gallery : Shop

Museum has fantastic collections for all the family to enjoy – the best starting point to discovering more about the people and places that make up some of Gwynedd’s stories.  Welsh furniture, textiles, art, archaeology, social history items… Located in the former Canonry, the Gwynedd Museum & Art Gallery, Bangor is brimming with stories from Gwynedd and surrounding area. The Roman Segontium sword, the Welsh Not, model of Telford’s suspension bridge and the King of Bardsey’s crown are just a few of the treasures you can enjoy.

Gallery exhibitions feature local and international artists.  Changing every six to eight weeks, there is always something new to see.  Solo shows by local and international artist, group shows, touring exhibitions, historical exhibitions and also graduate shows and the popular annual Open Art exhibition.  Most of our exhibitions are selling exhibitions and we also offer Collectorplan (an interest free art purchasing scheme).

Shop is ideal for gifts. We stock a large selection of hand crafted ceramics, jewellery, soaps as well as prints, local history and art books and greeting cards.  The majority of the items are hand made by artists and craft makers from Wales.
